Sensory-aware sessions
Light, sound and pauses, set with you
For people for whom a bright screen, a sudden sound or a quick question can use up the hour.
Before the first session we ask what makes a session easier or harder. You can change any answer later, and you never need to explain why.

What you can choose
Six things you can change
Light
Dim your screen, turn lamps on or off, or sit away from the window. Joumana sits in front of a plain wall.
Sound
Use headphones or speakers, or ask for a quieter voice and fewer sudden sounds.
Camera
On, off, or a picture in place of your face. You can switch during the session.
Voice or chat
Answer aloud, type in the chat, or do both. A written answer counts as an answer.
Movement
Stand, pace, fidget or hold something. Movement is welcome.
Pauses
Ask for a pause, or for a question to be asked again in a different way.
What to expect
Three more things
What this is not
It is not occupational therapy or a sensory assessment. Joumana counsels; she does not test.
Length and frequency
Sessions are 50 minutes. Joumana sets the pace with you, with no promised number.
You pay for each session yourself. The fees page explains receipts and the written estimate.
Three questions about this service
Can I keep my camera off?
Yes. Sessions can be camera on, camera off, or a picture instead of your face. You can use your voice, the chat or both, and you can change your mind during a session.
Do I have to make a phone call to begin?
No. You can use the form, send a text or write an email. We reply in writing, and we call only if you ask us to. Reminders come by text or email, whichever you choose.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours' notice to change an appointment. You can do it with a message, and you never need to call.

Put it in your first message, or wait for the agenda and answer there.
